Teen Challenge is an exciting, three-day, summer event designed especially for teenagers (ages 13-18 years) with PKU or other metabolic conditions.
During Teen Challenge you will
- Make great friends
- Try new things
- Build your confidence
- Learn new skills
Teen Challenge is offered through the Metabolism Program at Boston Children’s Hospital
A challenge provokes, stimulates, or incites us. We confront challenges everyday. When faced with a challenge, our response and action molds and defines our character.
Teen Challenge is meant to be a challenge! Activities are planned to engage you, excite you, and push you outside of your comfort zone.
Teen Challenge will allow you to try new experiences that you may never have thought you could do. Your individual strengths will shine as you become an essential part of a team and form friendships.
Highlights of Teen Challenge 2010
Teens participated in a two-day collaborative art project, using both traditional and digital art, on the theme of transformation. They solved creative problems both as individuals and together, and learned about identity, struggle, and the power of constructive change. The two-day project included both 2-D and 3-D art making, and was photographed to document the process and the outcome. We also had our Second Annual “Iron Chef” competition featuring professional cooking instructions including knife techniques and use of herbs and spices!
We hope you’ll join us for the fun and adventure that lie ahead.
